Meet Your New Painting Instructor..

So It's been a while since I have written a blog entry, for those who don't know
I got the job at Uptown Art Uncorked!
Yay! I am so excited and nervous at the same time.
I will be instructing painting classes for Adults & Children at the art studio.

I am excited because I love art, & the atmosphere seems very upbeat and fun!
I am nervous because I have never taught, I love art and I am confident in my talents, but teaching a group of people to draw seems rather intimidating.
Luckily, when I go in tomorrow for my first day I will be starting out as assisting in the classes & will do that for a couple weeks & only actually teach two classes this month.

Overall I am very excited!!
I am looking forward to meeting people who are interested in art
& getting paid doing what I love which is painting canvases.

This is a short blog because I really don't have much to say,
but I will be sure to update you all on my first day of work tomorrow & share all the details.

Home for Break

So this past weekend Jake & I made our long trek home to North Carolina,
not only was I excited to be in my home state for a week
but we were going food tasting for the reception and rehearsal dinner.
We also went to a bridal boutique in Asheville on the way home
so that my little sister & Jake's two younger sisters could get their bridesmaids dresses.

The food was delicious, and watching the girls get measured for their dresses was such a great experience, It's so exciting to see the wedding coming together and to finally be working out all the details.

It was such a fun day! & I am beyond excited for the August 11th
and had so much a wonderful time spending the day with our families.

After getting home to Winston-Salem,
Monday morning my mom, grandma, & I made a trip out to

My intentions were to just look for a dress and keep a feel for different prices and looks.
However, after I tried on my second dress I was knew that I had found my dress.
I never imagined finding a dress so quickly, and after a few alterations it will be my perfect dress.
I am so excited to do my final measurements and get to wear it on my wedding day!

Not only was my wedding details getting accomplished,
but on Tuesday I received an email from

in Auburn and Opelika.
They asked me to come in for an job interview for a position I had applied for months before.
I am so excited for the Interview, & to see what happens!

My trip home was a great, relaxing week, exactly what I had been needing,
I am refreshed and ready to come back motivated to get the job.
Tonight I am getting ready to go out for St. Patrick's Day in downtown Auburn with Jake & his friends
& tomorrow I will be heading to my interview around 11am!

Wish me luck!

War Eagle!

Ever since I've moved to Auburn AL with my fiance,
I have been going out and applying for full time interior design jobs in the area.

After few interviews and many emails returned explaining that their companies had gone out of business, they were independent, and they weren't getting enough business to hire anytime soon.

After applying to design firms, boutiques, and furniture stores.

After Hours of frustration..

my dreams of becoming an interior design was going dim, and It seemed like I would be spending
the majority of my time at Auburn working at a department store,
which isn't a bad job but not the job I envisioned for myself.

For the past few months I had been really depressed, questioning what my future in Auburn was going to be, trying to figure out what I should do to improve my future.
So I decided to apply to Auburn University for a second degree
in communications with a minor in business technologies.
I figured that by getting a second degree in broad field that could be used with my interior design degree or separately would only help my future career and improve my education.
I didn't know If I would get in, but with a lot of prayer, hoping, and wishful thinking..

I found out last Friday online that i had been "accepted for admission,"
but I am still waiting to receive my official letter..
& it came today!

I am beyond excited!!!

It's a Simple Life..

My first blog post is actually a little intimidating,
I actually Googled "how to write your first blog post" which wasn't much help, haha.
I'm just going to go for it and tell about my normal week.

Since I am currently unemployed,
I spend the majority of my time through out the week at my local gym.
I have been going to the gym near my apartment since October and I love it!
They provide Zumba & Yoga, which are my favorite classes to attend!
I spend a lot of my time upstairs on the treadmill, elliptical, & bike.
They actually have a cinema room where you can work out
while watching a movie like in a theater.
They also offer unlimited tanning, which I have recently started taking advantage of.
Since I am getting married in August,
It has been my motivation to go to the gym as much as possible.

After spending my most of my morning at the gym, I make myself a healthy bunch..
this week I've been making 2 scrambled eggs & 2 slices of turkey bacon with an orange or banana

& then I spend the rest of my day cleaning our apartment,
living with my fiances dirty habits i think have been our biggest obstacles as far as living together.
I am constantly mopping, doing dishes, vacuuming, & wiping counter tops.
I never consider myself OCD or really, really clean
but I have become so picky about keep my apartment clean.

After I tidy up the apartment, if I'm feeling up for it I will work out again,
by doing a yoga video or if its nice outside going on a walk around my apartment complex.
Recently I've spent the rest of my day reading on my patio, & wedding planning.

And then later in the night after my fiance gets home from classes, I make myself a small dinner or Lean Cuisine. & spend my nights on facebook, pinterest, or going out with Jake.

What can I say, It's a simple life.
